Taking control of your mind

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” – Proverbs 23:7
We are what we think, and we become what we allow our minds to dwell upon. Our thoughts have a great influence on our lives. Thoughts are very powerful; they determine our mental state. (such as happiness or sadness). Just as you can think yourself happy, you can think yourself sad or mad.

Nowhere in the Bible says that just any kind of praying will bring peace and joy to our hearts or will be answered by God. The purpose of prayer is not to change God’s mind or to convince God to do something that He does not want to do. The purpose of prayer is to align our thoughts, our will, and our ways with God’s thoughts, will and way.
What is a Revival?
November 3, 2022
The term “Revival” refers to a spiritual reawakening from a state of dormancy or stagnation in the life of a believer. It encompasses the resurfacing of a love for God, a renewed appreciation of God’s holiness, a restored hunger and passion for God’s Word, a convicting awareness of personal sin, a rejuvenated spirit of humility, and a desire for repentance and new growth in righteousness.
What is the Church?
October 21, 2022
Scriptures clearly explain that there is only ONE church and ONE way to become a part of the ONE body of Christ; being baptized by the ONE spirit, i.e. receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
Sins of the Tongue (11)
April 8, 2022
Never underestimate the power of words. Right words are like nourishing, health-giving food (Proverbs 15:4). However, the Bible warns us that words can be used to deceive, injure, control, and destroy. Perhaps if we consider some of the sins of the tongue, it might encourage us to use our gift of speech more carefully.
A Lying Tongue
March 21, 2022
God hates a lying tongue (Proverbs 6:16-17). Whenever we speak the truth, the Spirit of God is at work, but whenever we tell a lie, our flesh opens the door for Satan to go to work. Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44). Why do people lie? To cover or hide something (sin) To… Read More »
A Godly Tongue
March 2, 2022
Speech (The tongue) is an awesome gift from God. However, we so often take this gift for granted and abuse an ability that ought to be guarded and used to the glory and praise of God. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs 18:21) The power of speech is a privilege. However, with this privilege comes responsibility, and responsibility brings accountability. Our tongue can be used to do good, and it also can be used to do evil, but only God can help us use our tongue to do good.

Giving that pleases God
October 3, 2021
Giving is an act of worship – Similar to the wise men bringing gifts to Christ as an act of worship and adoration (Matthew 2:11), as we gather together on “the Lord’s Day” (Sunday) we must prepare “a gift” and bring it to God.
