What we believe
Our beliefs are solely provided and supported by the Holy Scriptures of God’s Word, because “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
Apostolic Doctrine
We believe and follow the Apostolic Doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ which is the teachings clearly set forth by the Apostles in the New Testament. “And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles' Doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers” Acts 2:42. Every item listed below was divinely inspired to us by the Lord Jesus Christ through the apostles.
Salvation (NOT Religion)
The Love of God provided salvation for humanity through the death of his son Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary (John 3:16, Romans 5:8). The first step to receiving the gift of salvation is faith. Faith is absolutely essential to salvation. Unless a person believes in the Lord Jesus Christ he cannot be saved. (Romans 1:16, Ephesians 2:8).
Repentance
True faith is always accompanied by repentance and obedience. Repentance is a death to sin, self, and the world; it is to turn from your way of sin and death and turn to God’s way of life and obedience. (Luke 24:47, 2 Corinthians 7:10)
The Infilling of the Holy Ghost
The baptism of the Holy Ghost is the birth of the Spirit in the life of a believer. According to the scriptures, the evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost is that the newly Spirit-filled believer speaks in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. (Acts 2:4, 10:46, and 19:6).
Water Baptism in Jesus Name
According to the scriptures, a believer must be baptized (immersed in water) in the name of Jesus Christ, which is the saving name of our God. (Acts 2:38, 8:16, 9:18, 19:5). “for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved,” except the name of Jesus. (Acts 4:12)
The Oneness of God
There is only one God. (I Timothy 2:5). “One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Ephesians 4:6). God is a Spirit, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). God was manifest in the flesh. “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh” (I Timothy 3:16). “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).
Holiness
Holiness is essential to please God. “Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16). Holiness consists of two components:
(1) A separation from sin and worldliness. (II Corinthians 6:17-7:1)
(2) A dedication to God’s Word and submission to his will. (Romans 12:1-2)
"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." (Hebrews 12:14)
Divine Healing
The Bible clearly teaches only God can provide divine healing for our bodies. In the same manner that we are to believe in God for the salvation of our souls, we should also believe in the healing of our bodies. One must believe and obey the conditions set forth in God’s Word in order to receive healing. (Mark 11:24, James 5:14-16)
Holy Communion
In obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ, we honor and remember his death and suffering at the cross of Calvary by partaking in the sacrament of Holy Communion (Luke 22:19-20). In his likeness, the use of bread and the fruit of the vine, are representatives of His broken body and shed blood. (1 Corinthians 11:23-34)
Foot Washing
Jesus Christ commissioned the disciples to follow His example and wash one another's feet; thus teaching humility, service, and unity. (John 13:14-15)
Translation of the Saints “The Rapture”
We believe that the time is drawing near when our Lord shall appear in like manner as he was taken; the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 1 Corinthians 15:51-54)
Tithes and offerings
Giving is an act of worship. It is a way of honoring God for what he has allowed you to acquire, and it is a way of trusting God by depending on his way of providing for you (Malachi 3:8-12; II Corinthians 9:6-8). God’s Word teaches us not only what to give (Tithes and offering), but how to give it - Secretly (Matthew 6:3-4), Cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7), and as God has prospered you (1 Corinthians 16:2).
Grace Giving
At the Faith Apostolic Church, we believe in “grace giving.” What is grace giving? God’s grace was provided to undeserving man through the death and suffering of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are saved through his grace (Ephesians 2:8). Grace giving is when your giving is motivated by the grace of God, which you have experienced in your life (2 Corinthians 8:9). When you have experienced God’s grace, you will not use any circumstances as a reason for not giving to God. Grace giving means giving back to God in spite of our circumstances. God’s grace not only frees us from our sins, but it frees us from ourselves. The grace of God will open your heart and your hand. Grace giving is not the result of cold calculation, but of joyful enthusiasm! God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7). Lastly, “grace giving” is based on our love for God and others. In the same manner that Jesus Christ loved us and gave his life for our sins, our expression of love toward him is grace giving to the furtherance of God’s kingdom in spreading the gospel of Christ to save lost souls.
