Can you see what God is trying to show you?

January 14, 2024

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • Hebrews
  • Isaiah
  • Matthew
  • Sunday Morning

The Word of God is a mirror that shows us something about ourselves that needs to be corrected or removed. The more time we make to examine our lives by God’s Word, we cleanse our hearts and mind from spiritual defilement (1 John 1:9). In contrast, the less time we spend in the mirror of God’s Word, the heart will become cluttered with junk, and become unclean, and this uncleanness will result in spiritual lethargy and broken fellowship with God.

  • Doctrinal Lesson

The infilling of the Holy Ghost gives you a new (spiritual) mind which lives in us and begins helping us to become like Christ. The new mind changes your thoughts, perspective, and your attitude towards sin and the world. Satan attacks the mind using lies, accusations, temptations, doubts, suspicions, fears, theories, etc.; But as long as the spiritual mind holds on to God’s truth, Satan cannot win!

God is warning you to turn from your wicked ways

November 23, 2023

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • Ezekiel
  • Matthew
  • Revival

God warns his people to turn from their wicked ways and live. The failure to turn from wicked ways leads to spiritual and moral decay, separation from God, and ultimately, spiritual death. Various scriptures, such as Ezekiel 33:11, 2 Chronicles 7:14, and Joel 2:12-14 emphasize the importance of repentance and turning away from sinful behavior.

What is the Right way to Pray?

September 2, 2023

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • 1 John
  • 1 Peter
  • Isaiah
  • James
  • Matthew
  • Philippians
  • Psalm
  • Romans
  • Doctrinal Lesson

Nowhere in the Bible says that just any kind of praying will bring peace and joy to our hearts or will be answered by God. The purpose of prayer is not to change God’s mind or to convince God to do something that He does not want to do. The purpose of prayer is to align our thoughts, our will, and our ways with God’s thoughts, will and way.
