A Midnight Praise

July 31, 2022

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • Acts
  • Hebrews
  • Pentecost Service

Midnight is not necessarily a time of the day, but it is a time in the believer’s life when situations make you uncomfortable, feel vulnerable, or when you are at your weakest moment. When you feel like there is no hope and you have nowhere else to turn, can you still give God praise?

Beware of bootleg blessings

June 25, 2022

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • Acts
  • Matthew
  • Pentecost Service

The term bootleg refers to something that is unlawfully made, distributed, or sold. Or the imitation of something authentic. Anything that is not ordained, commissioned or supported but the truth of God’s word is false. A person who believes in false doctrine will never experience a changed life. Only obedience to the truth of God’s word can make us free.

I am apprehended of Jesus Christ

June 18, 2022

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • Acts
  • Philippians
  • Sunday Morning

To apprehend means to capture, lay hold or arrest someone guilty of a crime. We are apprehended of Jesus Christ when we respond to his act of love at Calvary by faith and obedience. But we must continue to surrender to his word that we never lose his hold on us.

It’s time to make a U-turn to Jesus

June 4, 2022

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • Acts
  • Pentecost Service

A spiritual U-turn is a sudden and complete change of life in the opposite direction from the broad way, which leads to death, unto the narrow way in Christ, leading to eternal life. (Matthew 7:13-14)

You can’t buy your way to heaven

April 16, 2022

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • Acts
  • Pentecost Service

Jesus Christ suffered a horrible death to provide an opportunity for the whole world to receive and enjoy a new spiritual life in him. However, the only way to receive the free gift of salvation is by faith and obedience to God’s word. (Acts 16:30-31)

  • Proverbs
  • Revelation
  • Doctrinal Lesson

God hates a lying tongue (Proverbs 6:16-17). Whenever we speak the truth, the Spirit of God is at work, but whenever we tell a lie, our flesh opens the door for Satan to go to work. Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44). Why do people lie? To cover or hide something (sin) To… Read More »

I’m glad, God’s grace doesn’t hold my past against me

February 14, 2022

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • 1 Corinthians
  • Acts
  • Pentecost Service

Don’t let your past keep you from moving forward in God. He loves you and wants to save you despite what you have done in your past life. The Lord extended his mercy and grace to Saul and turned his life around by saving him and filling him with the Holy Ghost, in spite of what he did in the past to the Saints that called on the name of Jesus. (1 Corinthians 15:9-10)

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • Acts
  • Isaiah
  • Revelation

An open door represents an open heart to let God into our lives. An open heart will manifest to open eyes to see God’s will clearer in our lives and open ears to hear and obey his voice.
