Nowhere in the Bible says that just any kind of praying will bring peace and joy to our hearts or will be answered by God. The purpose of prayer is not to change God’s mind or to convince God to do something that He does not want to do. The purpose of prayer is to align our thoughts, our will, and our ways with God’s thoughts, will and way.

Anointed for God’s purpose

June 12, 2022

  • Pastor Gerald F. Gibbs Jr.
  • 1 John
  • Luke
  • Pentecost Service

God chooses the ordinary, common, practical things of the world to sanctify them (set them apart) for his praise and glory. When God anoints you with the Holy Ghost, you are no longer an ordinary vessel, but a vessel of honor “sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2 Timothy 2:21

  • Sunday Morning

Over the last few years, the world’s attention has been focused on a “new” sickness (COVID-19), which has resulted in the death of millions. However, as serious as that is, we must not overlook the spiritual sickness of sin that all of mankind is born with. While there are no current remedies or cures for COVID-19, there is one that can heal your spiritual sickness, and his name is Jesus.

Jesus is the best friend we can ever have. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. When we enter into a friendship with Jesus we must unfriend the world. (1 John 2:15-17)

  • 1 Thessalonians
  • Isaiah
  • James
  • Leviticus
  • Doctrinal Lesson

Specifically, holiness consists of two components: (1) Separation from sin and worldliness – (2 Corinthians 6:17-7:1). (2) Dedication to God and His will – (Romans 12:1-2). Holiness involves both the inner man and the outer man: (I Corinthians 6:19-20; I Thessalonians 5:23). We must perfect holiness by cleansing ourselves of filthiness both of the flesh… Read More »
