How to balance God’s blessings and life’s burdens

March 19, 2025 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. Leave a Comment

Is your life balanced? Do you experience more sorrow than happiness? It may seem like your problems outweigh the good times, but your life might be more balanced than you perceive. The Scriptures give us spiritual guidance on how to keep adversity and prosperity in perspective so that we don’t get too discouraged when times… Read More »

Why give Tithes and offering?

October 19, 2024 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. Leave a Comment

The word tithe means “a tenth.” More specifically, giving back to God a tenth of what He has bestowed upon you. The Scriptures make the purpose of tithing very clear, to put God first in our life. Tithing is a clear way to demonstrate our priorities. We are to give God the first and best… Read More »

Have you reached the limit of forgiveness? Is it “Seven times?”

September 1, 2024 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. Leave a Comment

Unlike man’s forgiveness, which is conditional, God removes your sin and doesn’t hold it against you anymore. “He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.” – Micah 7:19. Satan loves to shackle God’s people with memories of sins that God has already forgiven and forgotten. Satan is the accuser (Revelation 12:10), but Jesus Christ is our Advocate (1 John 2:1-2).

God is waiting for you to meet Him in your secret place

March 29, 2024 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. 5 Comments

“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” – Psalm 122:1, here the psalmist David expressed his excitement for being asked to go to the house of the LORD. Are you too busy for God?

November 3, 2023 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. 5 Comments

There are many things in our lives that we value as being important to us. From our spouses, children, family, job/career, health, home, etc., the list can go on and on. These things require a portion of our time, effort, and attention that can pull us in many different directions. Thus, you can get so consumed with the many things in your life that you can overlook the most important and needful thing, which is fellowship with Jesus. Helping and being there for others is important. Your responsibility to your job and family is just as important. But there is nothing more important than where your soul will spend eternity.

Why is God trying to get your attention?

July 21, 2023 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. 1 Comment

As Moses was tending to his father-in-law’s flock on the backside of the desert (Exodus 3:1), God revealed something to Moses that he had never seen before, a bush burning with fire, but it was not consumed (Exodus 3:2). Moses asked, why is this happening (Exodus 3:3)? The moment God saw Moses turn from what… Read More »

Help God, help you!

May 9, 2023 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. 9 Comments

Help God help you

Contrary to popular beliefs and teachings today where God is considered to be a type of genie or Santa Claus who jumps to grant a believer’s wishes upon request. God calls us to live by faith, not by chance, and to trust God, not tempt Him. God will help those that help themselves. Why? Because God wants you to be a part of the miracle process.

We all need help – Build bridges not walls

March 17, 2023 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. 5 Comments

Life is like sour patch candy, bitter and sweet. The joys of life can be exhilarating (sweet), but the pains of life can be overwhelmingly difficult (bitter). Some people build walls in times of trial and shut themselves off. They are afraid to reach out for help, but feel a type of security and comfort in not letting anyone in. Under the circumstances, building walls may seem like the right thing to do, but it actually becomes a means of isolation. Building walls of isolation prevents you from receiving help from God, and the people whom God uses. In contrast, building bridges can draw you closer to the Lord and people who can help you in difficult times.

Walking into your Victory (in 2023)

January 13, 2023 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. Leave a Comment

In the book of Joshua chapter 6, God brought his people to the brink of their promised blessing, but they had one more seemingly impossible challenge to overcome. The promised blessing was surrounded by walls. Today, believers are promised God’s blessings recorded in his Word, such as, Spiritual deliverance, healing for the body, strongholds broken in your household, or a greater manifestation of God’s presence in your life. However, the blessings of God are surrounded by “walls,” i.e., obstacles, and challenges, of which our natural ability, intellect, or financial resources are ineffective to overcome. God’s “weapons” are spiritual and not carnal. They are “mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;” – (2 Corinthians 10:4). Below are five spiritual weapons needed to knock down the walls surrounding your blessing, enabling you to Walk into your Victory!

Are you spiritually sick? – Don’t stay stuck in bed

December 17, 2022 By Gerald F Gibbs Jr. 2 Comments

A couple of years ago, the COVID-19 virus changed the world’s approach to being healthy. Unfortunately, while receiving a vaccine shot can minimize the symptoms, there is no cure for the COVID-19 virus. As a result, the primary focus of attention is on the physical, mental, and social well-being of men, women, and young people. While it is vital to do what we can to maintain a healthy body and mind, we must not overlook or neglect our greatest need, which is obtaining spiritual health for our souls.
